DOHENY FOR CONGRESS, INC.
107 Court St., Box 257
Watertown, NY 13601
Matt Doheny is not a career politician, but someone whose experience and track record have centered on his career path in the business world. At a time when the federal government is running historic deficits and the nation is coming out of the worst recession since the depression, people in the 23rd Congressional District need bold new ideas. Matt has the business and finance experience needed to help turn around our nation’s economy and bring much-needed jobs to our region.
The common theme I hear is that people are struggling to balance their budgets. Despite promising forecasts from economists, the economic situation of our nation remains in distress. I have the first hand professional experience to help turn the country around, get people back to work, and get folks spending money again. As Congressman, I will work to ensure that our farmers get a fair price for their products; and create the opportunities for our young people, families, friends and neighbors to live, work and enjoy a fine quality of life here in the 23rd.
Across the 23rd Congressional District, people tell me they are “fed up” with Congress, Washington and Albany politicians’ excessive and extravagant spending, all on their dime. Congress needs to cut spending instead of creating new programs and continuing to raise taxes, and as your Representative, I am prepared to bring a Conservative, no-nonsense fiscal approach to the nation’s capital.
The recent so-called healthcare “reform” is nothing more than a massive tax increase, placing the burden on working families, already struggling small businesses, an overloaded Medicare system and overworked doctors. What we have seen with the recent passing of healthcare legislation is Washington deal-making at its worst, and now it’s time to pick up the pieces. As Congressman, I will work to overturn the recently enacted health care “reform” package and instead, create sensible, affordable solutions to our nation’s healthcare dilemma.

With a quick cut of the ribbon, Matt opened the Doheny for Congress campaign office in Vail Mills, Fulton County on August 2. If the number of cars driving by during the ribbon-cutting are a good indicator, the office at 3647 State Highway 30 is located at one of the busiest roadways in the area -- and a prime spot for campaign visibility!

Matt Doheny made a swing through Newcomb on Saturday (Essex County) to participate in the fireman's parade and attend the annual Newcomb steak roast. Matt brought his team from Watertown and met up with several volunteers from the Eastern side of the district for the parade. As always, the Doheny for Congress footballs were a big hit, and several kids were spotted throwing the football around in the water or on the beach at the steak roast.

See you at the next parade!

After logging over 70,000 miles in the last 7 months, Matt Doheny's trusty 94 Ford Explorer "Bessie" was due for some much needed TLC, including new brakes, an engine tune up, and most importantly in this hot summer, an air conditioning re-charge. Bessie was out of commission for a day and is now back on the road as Matt continues to traverse the huge 23rd Congressional District.

Republicans have found an unwitting ally in their bid to take over control of the House this November: New York Democrat Charlie Rangel, who faces a high-profile congressional trial over alleged ethics violations.
